Ever seen the opening or closing bell on CNBC? The NYSE is one of a few exchanges that ring a bell to signify the trading day’s start and end. A lot of company CEOs, fund managers, and just basically wall street big boys have the honor of ringing the bell on a given day.
If you don’t know the stock market hours you can view them here, but basically the stock market opens at 9:30 AM and closes at 4:00 PM Eastern time. Below are some photos from both the opening and closing bells for visual reference:
