Help Choosing an Online Stock Broker

Posted by Blain Reinkensmeyer on Thursday May 31, 2007

Need help chosing an online broker to trade or invest with? No problem, I am here to help!

I do free 30-minute live consultations over the internet (Skype, AIM, MSN Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, etc.) to help you chose a broker that will best suit your needs, just contact me to setup an appointment.

I specialize in my knowledge of the biggest online brokers: TD Ameritrade, Scottrade, Sharebuilder, OptionsXpress, Etrade, Zecco, etc. Not only do I have accounts with a few of these brokers, but my firm has also worked directly with them in the past! You want knowledge, my brain is here to share.

The biggest factors that come into play when chosing an online broker include trade commissions, services offered, research available, tools available, hidden fees, etc. What I always tell people is that you are always better off going with a big name than a little name in the industry. Why? Because they always have more to offer simply because they have more money to spend on you the client.

If you are already with a broker, and are considering changing or are looking for ways to maximize what you already have on your plate, I can help you with that as well. Did you know you can trade for free and get monthly subscription research services for free? You may think paying only a few bucks per trade is good, but believe me, there is always better available!

Great posts to read! Do you have a suggestion for the right pick of a broker for an individual from abroad (non resident and not US citizen)? Can I chose any of the TOP5 brokers with my status?

That is a great question Filip, I think I would just check the brokers out and see what they have to offer. It really depends on where outside the US you are currently residing. For instance using one of the above brokers in Canada will be a lot simpler than finding one for China (the only one I know of off the top of my head is Scottrade).
